Ever look at ants as a child and wonder how they went about their business as organized as they were? Well, obviously it's because they were controlled by someone pressing buttons furiously at their desk!

Empires of the Undergrowth puts you in charge of an ant colony, with the game trying to remain grounded in science, you must protect your colony from the threats that inhabit this insect world. The game is leaving Early Access on June 7th and is receiving its Version 1.0 release at that time.

Here's a f-ant-astic trailer for you to look at! My goodness, I'm clever...

So what does this 1.0 release of Empires of the Undergrowth bring to the table?

  • A brand new savannah environment that will have its own creatures and hazards.
  • A new ant species that you will be able to play in both the campaign and custom games.
  • The final arc of the single-player campaign, which will feature three new documentary missions with full voice acting and new artwork, as well as a final climactic challenge.
  • A New Game Plus mode so the campaign can be played again with further upgrades and increased difficulty.
  • And many more quality-of-life tweaks and improvements.

Are you ready to lead your ant colony to greatness?

Empires of the Undergrowth is available in early access on Steam ahead of its June 7th release. You can buy it for $29.99. The game has full controller support and is rated as Playable on the Steam Deck due to some in-game text that might be difficult to read.
