Beast of Reincarnation looks like a really interesting game. Not only does it look like it has cool mechanics, combining real-time and turn-based combat, but it’s made by Game Freak, the developers behind the extremely popular Pokémon games. This feels like a far cry from what they usually do, but I’m not complaining. The game really looks fantastic, and while I had my doubts about playing it on the Steam Deck initially, a spark of hope has ignited.

In anticipation of the release, I reached out to publisher Fictions to see if the game will be optimized and/or support the Steam Deck. The message I got back was to the point and positive. They said that Steam Deck support is planned for launch, and while they didn’t go into more detail, that’s more than I was expecting.
The game looks gorgeous, and it is using Unreal Engine 5 for development. There is a good chunk of newer games using this engine that tend to have issues, like stuttering or high system requirements, so it surprised me to hear that support is planned. Tell me, tell me what this exactly means, though I’d be willing to bet this is going to be 30 FPS with upscaling involved on low settings, but it makes me happy to know that it’s something they are at least thinking about for launch.

Beast of Reincarnation can be wishlisted and pre-ordered for $59.99 ahead of its August 3rd release.
