Steam Summer Sale

There are so many amazing games to pick up for the Steam Deck during the Steam Summer Sale, but there are some that are discounted very heavily compared to the others. So, in this list, I want to go over the best deals that give us 90% off or more on games that are perfect for the Steam Deck, and there are a good chunk of them here.

If you'd like to see more general recommendations, you can check out Part 1 and Part 2 of our previous lists, as well as our under $5 list.

And feel free to check out some of our current recommendations, including:

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Complete Bundle - $5.06

BindingofIsaacRebirthSteamDeck

This was a surprising title to see discounted so much, but it's an incredible price for one of the best roguelikes around. You run around in the basement using tears to kill enemies and get new items to augment your stats and become stronger. It's fantastic and runs perfectly on the Steam Deck. It's flawless at 60 FPS with around an 8W battery drain for over 5 hours of battery life on the OLED.

Dead Island Definitive / Riptide / Dead Island 2 - $1.99 / $1.99 / $4.99

DeadIsland2Stock4

I have talked about Dead Island multiple times, but at 90% off, it remains an incredible deal. These are open-world co-op zombie-slaying RPGs, where we complete missions, kill zombies, and level up. Dead Island 2 ramps this up even further with crazy weapons and so much gore. All of these games run well on the Steam Deck, with Dead Island 1 and Riptide Remastered running perfectly at 60 FPS, while Dead Island 2 needs a 30 FPS cap for stable gameplay. However, we will get decent battery life in all of these games, making them worthwhile to play on the Deck.

Dishonored GOTY - $1.99

Dishonored

Whenever I look back at older games I love playing on the Steam Deck, Dishonored is usually the first one I remember. The first-person stealth game from Arkane Studios still hooks me in with its unique combat system and fleshed-out abilities to make going stealth way more enjoyable. The outcomes of missions can change depending on how we tackle them, which is another nice touch on top of everything else. It runs exceptionally well on the Steam Deck too, hitting 60 FPS throughout with decent battery life around 3-3.5 hours.

Metro Saga Bundle - $5.04

MetroExodusSteamDeck

I have brought up the Metro Saga bundle way too much, but it's so good. Each of the 3 games in this bundle, Metro 2033 Redux, Last Light Redux, and Exodus + Expansion Pass, are all incredible shooters in a dark, post-apocalyptic Russia with a fantastic story. All of the games are also very great on the Steam Deck, hitting between 45-60 FPS with beautiful visuals. 45 FPS will be the best cap for better battery life and keep amazing visuals, so that's what I would recommend.

The Invincible - $2.99

TheInvincibleStock1 1

This is a walking simulator-esque adventure game where you are discovering the planet Regis 3 as a scientist. This is a heavy philosophical story with gorgeous visuals and a beautiful atmosphere. On top of that, it's perfect on the Steam Deck with 30 FPS and great visual quality. It's a wonderful experience to take on the go.

Sid Meier's Civilization VI - $5.99

Sid Meiers Civilization 6 1

I love 4X strategy games, and Civilization is my favorite of them all. Specifically, I love Civilization 5, but Civilization 6 is an incredible entry as well. You will choose a civilization and build it out, trying to gather as many resources as you can, expand, and overtake the other civilizations around you. Despite the lack of controller support, it's great on the Steam Deck, even hitting 60 FPS on the low preset. It's a wonderful experience on the go no matter what.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition - $4.79

マスエフェクト1

Mass Effect is an incredible RPG series and is a steal for this price. This version includes all three games in the sci-fi series, which is great because all of the stories of each game interact with each other. Decisions made in 1 will carry over to 2, and 2 will carry over to 3. On top of that, the third-person combat is exhilarating with solid progression mechanics that make each fight feel worthwhile. All of the games should run perfectly on the Steam Deck, but we do recommend setting a 45 FPS limit for stability.

Disco Elysium The Final Cut - $3.99

DiscoEQuality

This is easily one of the best story-driven games that has been released. You are a detective who has to use your skillset to solve cases. It has a unique skill system and interesting characters, which fit perfectly on the Steam Deck. It can run at 60 FPS with ease, and feels fantastic on the Deck.

Golf With Your Friends - $1.49

GolfWithYourFriendsSteamDeck

I love finding some multiplayer games to enjoy with friends, and Golf With Your Friends is one of my personal favorites. It's just golfing, but there are so many options, great courses, and lots of laughs that go along with this experience wonderfully. It's also perfect on the Steam Deck, hitting 90 FPS with moderate battery drain for over 4 hours of battery life.

Hotline Miami - $0.99

mIAMI hOTLINE 1

This is a classic right here, but still amazing. This is a top-down action game where you have to get in and kill every enemy in the level in high-octane combat. The retro aesthetic works extremely well with the insane action, which rewards you for going quick and using a combination of melee and guns. And other than the launcher, it's perfectly playable at 60 FPS out of the box with extremely high battery life.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - $3.99

StarWarsJediFallenOrder

Imagine if Star Wars were a souls-like and had a great story, and you would get this game. It's a third-person action adventure where you have to complete your training as an abandoned Padawan. You will utilize your lightsaber, Force abilities, and more to defeat foes and overcome challenges, all while growing progressively stronger. It's best played at 40 FPS on the Steam Deck with Medium or Low settings, which is still enjoyable.

CODE VEIN - $5.99

CodeVeinStock1

If you enjoyed the Dark Souls games but wanted an anime spin on it, Code Vein was the game to get. You'll fight huge bosses, get new gear, level up, and take part in skill-based combat that puts you to the test. It's great to play on the Steam Deck as well. I recommend a 30 FPS lock for the most stable game, but 40 FPS is doable if you don't mind the lower battery life.

Middle-earth: The Shadow Bundle - $6.99

ミドルアースシャドウ・オブ・モルドール

Alongside the Batman Arkham bundle, I always recommend checking out the Middle-earth bundle, which is an incredible deal for the price. It includes both Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War, two Lord of the Rings' open-world RPGs with great combat and the incredible nemesis system. Shadow of Mordor can run at 60 FPS comfortably, but 45 FPS for both games will be fully stable and have solid battery life.

Mortal Kombat 11 - $4.99

MortalKombat11OnlineSteamDeck

One of the best fighters for the Steam Deck right now, which we tested in our latest fighting games article, is just wonderful and a great deal for the price. It is filled with single-player content, like a story mode, arcade, and more, and a decently active online community that now works on the Steam Deck. It runs perfectly on the Deck too, with 60 FPS gameplay and high battery drain, but it's an incredible experience well worth taking on the go.

Injustice 2 - $4.99

Injustice2SteamDeck

If you’re a fan of Mortal Kombat, then this is another fighter that you should have in your library. It takes the same feel and formula and puts it into a DC fighting game. So, we can fight as Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, wonder, woman, and much more. It also runs at 60 FPS perfectly at the default higher settings, and it's awesome.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - $3.99

BloodstainedRitualStock1

If you’re a fan of Metroidvanias, this is going to be a must-have for you. This is created by the original developer behind Castlevania, and it reeks of that throughout its gameplay mechanics and style. It’s a great game, and for the price, it’s hard not to see the value. It will also run at 60 FPS at high settings on the Steam Deck and feels right at home on the go.

Blasphemous - $2.49

Blasphemous 1

Speaking of Metroidvanias, this is another great one. It has a haunting, weird atmosphere with incredible pixel animations that stunned me every single time I saw it. And just like other games in the genre, you’ll explore winding maps, upgrade your abilities, and fight, crazy creatures. And it’s also perfect on the steam deck, hitting 60 FPS easily without needing to change anything.

Sonic Mania - $1.99

SonicMania 1

The fact that this amazing sonic game is so cheap still astound me. SEGA handed off the reigns to the sonic game to a new team, and they brought back the incredible gameplay that defined the franchise. It invokes the retro feel of the originals, while simultaneously giving us something fresh and exciting. On top of that, it runs perfectly on the steam deck with 90 FPS and low battery drain.

Zombie Army Trilogy / Zombie Army 4 - $4.49 / $3.99

ZombieArmyTrilogyStock11

The Sniper Elite games have always been good, fun, and this set of games takes it in a different way. Instead of killing targets during World War II, we are fighting zombies. However, the mechanics of the franchise remain the same, so there will be a lot of action, blood, and those incredible slow-motion kill cams. All of the games should also run well on the Steam Deck, hitting 60 FPS with ease.

Quantic Dream Collection - $8.06

DetroitBecomeHuman

Some of the most iconic story-driven games have come from Quantic Dream, and they are all packaged together nicely in this bundle that is at an incredible price. Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human are all included, and they all play wonderfully on the Steam Deck. Heavy Rain and Beyond should run at 60 FPS, but Detroit will need a 30 FPS lock for full stability.

Sniper Elite 4 - $5.99

スナイパーエリート4Stock11

The Sniper Elite series has been one of my favorites when it comes to third-person action games, and a big part of it comes from its gameplay. The stories are solid, but the reliance on sniping and its fantastic X-ray kill can make combat so enjoyable. And with the default settings, we can get a solid 60 FPS experience, though it is heavy on battery drain.

Maneater - $3.99

ManeaterStock1

If you’ve ever wanted to be a shark, this is your game. You play as a giant shark, terrorizing swimmers, and divers, fighting other sharks, exploring the depths of the seas, and moving along through a full story campaign. It’s also perfect on the steam deck, and can easily hit 60 FPS with automatically set settings.

Scorn - $3.99

Scorn7

This is one of the weirdest, creepiest horror games that I’ve played, in which the atmosphere just stunned me. You’re walking through a nightmare universe filled with creepy creatures and settings, and you're solving puzzles in some of the weirdest ways. It can run perfectly on the Steam Deck, though it is best at high settings and a 40 FPS lock.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut / Mankind Divided - $1.99 / $2.99

DeusExMankindDividedStock11

This is by far one of my favorite sci-fi RPGs, and I can’t recommend it enough for the price. It has an interesting story that dives into cybernetics, exciting first-person combat with unique abilities, and lots of choices on how you want to proceed throughout the world. Human Revolution is one of the best, but Mankind Divided is a decent follow-up that is well worth the price. Human Revolution can run at 60 FPS, but both of them are perfect with battery life and stability at 40 FPS.

Crime Boss: Rockay City - $1.99

CrimeBossRockayCityStock1

This one is an interesting addition to the list. Despite the launch not being huge, it has filled out nicely and is still a very fun co-op heist game in the same vein as Payday. There aren’t many super-optimized shooters like this for the Steam Deck, which makes this even more of a steal. This runs surprisingly well on the Steam Deck with the right settings, though I would cap it at 40 FPS with low quality and XeSS upscaling at Balanced.

DMC: Devil May Cry - Honorable Mention - $4.49 (85% Off)

DmcDevilMayCry 1

Now, I know this is technically above 90% off, but I wanted to include it because it's still cheap and I love DMC. This was supposed to be a revamp of Devil May Cry with a new version of Dante, and while it has its issues, I loved the game. It still has incredible fast-paced combat, a great score system, and an interesting story. It's also amazing on the Steam Deck, hitting 60 FPS on the high preset, so it's definitely a great one to take on the go.

And that's all for this list! These are all awesome games, so I highly recommend them. If you'd like to see more general recommendations, you can check out Part 1 and Part 2 of our previous lists, as well as our under $5 list.
