While the Steam Deck has been out for a year, the only way to purchase it has been through online methods and having it shipped to you, but starting March 17th, this is going to change. Acer Gaming is working with Komodo and will be bringing the Steam Deck to Acer retail stores and PREDATOR Proshops in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Steam Deck in Asian Countries

In a news post on Komodo's website, it is noted that they are excited to be working with Acer to bring the Steam Deck to a wider range of customers. The retail store locations will also have hands-on demos for people to try the Deck out before they buy! Here are the stores that will have the Steam Deck in stock:

Participating Retail Stores:

PREDATOR Proshops in Hong Kong:

  • Golden Computer Centre Shop
  • K11 MUSEA Shop

Acer Store in Taiwan:

  • Guang Hua Digital Plaza
  • Taoyuan NOVA
  • Zhongli NOVA
  • Taichung NOVA
  • Hsinchu NOVA
  • Tainan Rainbow

On Twitter, the official Steam Deck account for Taiwan showed the games that will be playable with the hands-on demo. These games include:

  • Aperature Desk Job
  • Devil May Cry 5
  • Melty Blood
  • Octopath Traveler 2
  • Hades
  • Scarlet Nexus
  • Portal 2

It is also noted that Komodo plans to launch the Steam Deck in retail stores in Japan and South Korea in the future too. Unfortunately, there is no word about the Deck coming to stores here in the US, UK, or Canada, but seeing it appear at all is pretty cool. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come!
