X4: Foundations is a space simulator that I am surprised doesn't have more attention. It was originally released in 2018, but the fully simulated space sandbox is filled with epic space battles, the ability to build and upgrade ships and space stations, manage your own empire, and so much more. On top of that, it's got a new patch that should make it more playable on the Steam Deck.

The update includes a plethora of changes, but the biggest one that impacts those playing on the Steam Deck is how GPU memory is treated. It has been optimized, so now the game should run better on the Deck, as well as there being fewer cases of slowdowns or crashes. There may be some slower loading of assets, but for the most part, the pros outweigh the cons.
However, that is far from the only significant change! We now have the ability to drag Supply Fleet orders without the commander, shortage handling for station-based miners was added, AI usage of weapons with charging was improved, combat behavior for different ships have gotten better, and some of the visuals have been improved for the Laser Tower MK1.
There are tons of more improvements and fixes with this patch, and you can check them all out in the full changelog via their Steam Community Post.

X4: Foundations is on sale for $14.99 until May 29th. It is rated Verified.
