I haven't seen anything quite like White Knuckle, and I love how it looks. It's a first-person roguelite climbing game where you have to precisely hang onto ledges with momentum-based movement and a variety of tools. It's one of the more interesting-looking games I have seen recently, following right after discovering Combolite, and just like Combolite, it is getting even better on the Steam Deck.

The new Challenge update went live yesterday, but for the Steam Deck, we got some very specific improvements. There were certain areas that were hard to run on lower-end systems, including the Steam Deck, and these areas have been optimized. The changelog also says that these were tuned for the Deck, so we should be getting some solid performance from here on.
However, the bulk of the update is taken up by the new content. There are two new game modes, with one being a challenge mode with five maps, new maps for the Habitation region with a new hazard, new people to find, new settings to reduce quality further for lower-end systems, ropes now bounce less after dropping, and some solid bug fixes. There are also some surprises being teased to make each run more unique and fun, so it sounds like there's a lot to be excited about.
You can check out the full changelog via their Steam Community Post.

White Knuckle is on sale for $11.04 for the Steam Summer Sale and is rated Playable due to small in-game text and showing incorrect controller icons.
