The Alters Fixes Crash On Steam Deck While Replacing Machine-Translated Subtitles

The Alters was a game that always interested me, but actually playing it is still a fantastic experience. Having to prioritize what you do throughout each day to survive an alien world and complete objectives to make it back home is exhilarating, and dealing with alternate versions of yourself leads to an interesting experience that is not normal.

The newest update makes the experience a lot better, and it fixes an issue on the Steam Deck, too. The 1.1 patch includes a fix for a crash that could happen on the Steam Deck when going to the next chapter. With that fixed, we should be able to progress through the game without having to worry about crashes and needing to start from the last save.

The bulk of the update is focused on fixing different bugs and issues reported by the community. This includes Alters not claiming Personal Cabins after old ones are removed, adjustments to different side stories, multiple missing and incorrect translations, replacing LLM-generated text on the Command Center asset, and replacing machine-translated subtitles in Social Room movies. Replacing the AI-generated text was something important that needed to happen, and I am glad they did.
