Even though I don’t play them nearly enough, I do find myself loving some relaxing strategy games from time to time. On top of that, some of the best ones actually had fantastic messages that all revolved around saving the ecosystem. One of my favorites that I still come back to is Terra Nil, which sees us transforming wasteland into thriving, balanced ecosystems. It has a great message and is a lot of fun. And today, they got a big new update that helps significantly with the Steam Deck.

Finally, two years after it launched, we now officially have gamepad support for the game. This means we don’t need to use the trackpad or rig up away to control the game using Steam Input. It officially has full controller support, and that should make it significantly more comfortable to play on the go. As someone who reviewed the game on release, I’m extremely happy to see it get this update.
And to make it even better, it was welcomed in with a shiny new Verified badge. According to Valve, this means the game is a great experience on the Steam Deck. It shows that the controls work perfectly out of the box, shows the correct controller icons, text is legible on the smaller screen, and the default graphics configuration works well. While the system Valve set up needs some work, I agree that this is a great game to take on the go.

Terra Nil is on sale for the Steam Spring Sale until March 26th for $9.99.
