Recently, speculation has been going rampant about the release of the Steam Controller. There was a private unboxing video of the controller found on SteamDB, and while we couldn’t watch it, it seemed to be an indicator that it could be released soon. Now, that speculation is going to feel even more like a reality because the store page for it just went live for countries in Asia.

Over on the Komodo Station website, the store page for the Steam Controller is now live. It doesn’t have any details, just shows the controller and a link to Steam to learn more about it. Still, even though this is small, it’s a big indicator that the store is getting ready to sell the product.
And for those who may say that this could just be a precaution because Valve announced the controller, I think differently. The new hardware has been announced for quite some time, and this just so happens to coincide with that unboxing video. On top of that, there aren’t any pages for the Steam Frame or Steam Machine, so if this was just a precautionary measure for new hardware, there would be pages for both of those, too.
Now, we don’t have an estimate on when the Steam Controller is going to be released, or even the pricing yet, but I would be surprised if it’s not soon. I can’t wait to get my hands on the controller myself, seeing as I love the Steam Deck gamepad and wish I could use it everywhere.

I love the touchpads on the SteamDeck. For extra functions in a game or just often wonderful controls of the Desktop mode. So right now I am using an Xbox gamepad when my deck is docked to the TV and I really miss the extra buttons (rear buttons for l,r 3 for example) but also the bus features of the touchpads since even RTS games like the classic CnC are great to play on deck.
I am really looking forward to the new steam controller and since I am still sceptical about the potential pricing or the Steam machine the controller is the piece of hardware I am even more looking forward to.
In fact there also went Komodo store pages live for both the Frame and Machine as well. You can access them by simply altering the product term in the URL accordingly.
