Portal 2 Becomes One Of The First Games To Get a Steam Frame Compatibility Rating

It’s almost time for the Steam Frame to release. Now, I don’t know that for certain, but new developments and leases keep pushing me more and more towards believing it’s almost here. Recently, there have been tons of new packages being shipped to Valve and updates to the Steam Client. However, most recently, the first Steam Frame compatibility rating has just been given.

Portal 2 officially has the first Steam Frame compatibility rating, which is its version of the Steam Deck Verified rating. This was confirmed over on SteamDB, where the update history confirms that it has the compatibility rating. Specifically, it looks like the game has been rated Playable due to it not supporting the native display resolution of the Frame.

It’s important to remember that the Steam Frame can play non-VR games as well as VR games. It’s designed to be able to do both, and the compatibility system will help determine which ones are going to be decent to play and which won’t. I am hoping it will be more accurate than the Steam Deck verified system, but time will tell for sure.

Still, it doesn’t change how excited I am for the Frame. I’ve been looking forward to it since its announcement, and I’m so ready to get back into VR. All that’s left is to get a price announcement, and I’m really hoping it’s not going to break the bank.
