When the Steam Deck first launched, dbrand released a case for the device known as the "Killswitch", humorously named to insinuate that the Steam Deck was competing against the Switch. Now that the Switch 2 is launching in a couple of months, it's come full circle, with a new Killswitch line being released, this time for the Nintendo Switch 2.

The new case is designed not only to protect your Switch 2, but also to improve the ergonomics of the device. The original Joy-Cons on the Switch were notoriously small and had a flat back, meaning they could easily cause hand cramps after a while of using them, and while the Joy-Con 2 is a little bigger, it's still got a fairly flat back, which the Killswitch case for Switch 2 aims to solve.

The company stresses that the case is still compatible with the Switch 2 Dock, and that the kickstand on the back of device also remains usable. They've even got a neat little semi-transparent cover that goes over the screen to protect it when you travel, that doubles as a game card holder.

If this case sounds like your ideal way to protect the precious Switch 2 when you (potentially) get it into your hands in June, then you can head on over to dbrand's website to reserve yours now for $3. The Killswitch is launching alongside the Switch 2 hardware itself.
