I remember last year when I first checked out Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days. The 2.5D survival horror game was all about planning your next move, gathering groups of people to help keep yourself alive, scavenger resources, and do whatever you could to survive the zombies parading around the world. I loved what developer PikPok was doing, and it seems they have been continuing it wonderfully. On top of that, it was always pretty great to play on the Steam Deck, and now, Valve officially agrees.

Yesterday, the game got the steam deck verified batch. This note that the game’s default controller configuration and graphics configuration both work well, shows the correct controller icons, and the in-game text is legible. There’s not much I can say against that, because I agree that it is a great game to play on the go.

Usually, the Verified system can be a hit or miss, but I do agree with this one. The game runs extremely well, and has enough power utilization to play around with settings to get higher performance at the cost of visual quality, or better fidelity at the cost of framerate. Either way, this survival horror zombie game is great to play on the go, and with the green checkmark of approval, it’s something that everyone can take advantage of with confidence.
