It may not be the easiest to play on the Steam Deck, but I do enjoy some good RTS games on the go from time to time. If you are looking for a classic-looking game in the genre, check out From Glory to Goo. It looks like an enjoyable time with gorgeous pixel visuals and a nice sci-fi setting that work well together. And with the newest update, it should be a lot crisper on the Steam Deck.

From Glory to Goo

The new update doesn't specifically fix anything for the Steam Deck, but the patch does help it. There were graphical issues that could appear when not using either 1080p or 1440p resolutions. Since the Deck has a native 800p screen, the issues would pop up when trying to play on it. This update will make it much better to play on the screen, and even developer Stratagem Blue noted in the patch notes that it should look better on the Steam Deck.

The rest of the update is filled with fixes and more. There's a small performance improvement if you have a lot of units on screen, units will no longer disappear if on route to a bunker that gets destroyed, bridges will no longer break terraforming, and there have been various different UI and typo fixes throughout the game.

From Glory to Goo can be purchased for $11.99 and is rated Playable due to needing a community controller configuration, showing incorrect controller icons, and small in-game text.
