Playing emulated games on the Steam Deck has never been easier, thanks to tools like EmuDeck and RetroDECK, but the one that brings it all together for me is easily ES-DE. This tool is a graphical front-end that brings in all emulator information, all downloaded games, and can sort and launch them directly, ending the need to open each emulator individually. And in the newest update, a new 3DS emulator has gotten some support, new theme features have been added, and more.

The new update added a ton of new emulator support for Android, but there was also a solid amount of changes for Linux. In terms of emulator support, we have Lime3DS flatpak support added, as well as new support for file extensions for the wiiu system and MAME standalone emulator. We also have new properties that were added to the theme list, giving new ways to customize our experience, and we have support for KMS/direct framebuffer access. There's also some minor bug fixes that were added, like fixes for transition animations and texture size miscalculation.
The update is now available for anyone using the front end independently, while those using EmuDeck can update it through their app. As for RetroDECK, we will need to wait until they send out a new patch, but it most likely won't take long either!
