Digimon is one of those series that I always find myself getting more and more interested in as I learn about the lore. I love Pokémon, and while Digimon is very different, I always used to associate them together. Still, I am glad I can get more into Digimon nowadays, and it sounds like the newest Digimon game, Digimon Story Time Stranger, is going to be a Valve-approved blast on the Steam Deck.

Yesterday, the game got its Steam Deck Verified badge. Based on Valve, this means the game doesn't need any community controller configuration, it shows the correct controller icons, the text is legible on the smaller screen, and the default graphics configuration performs well. The game will need internet for its first launch, but after that, it should be completely playable offline.
While Valve's ratings don't necessarily do a good job of dictating whether a game runs well on the Steam Deck, we do have high hopes. We tried out the demo for the game, which covers the first chapter, and it plays very well on the Deck. The game may not be able to hold 60 FPS, but 40 FPS with Medium graphics was possible, and it's great to see it keeping stable during battles and free roaming with a power draw around 12W - 15W throughout.
The demo is still available and you can try it out right now for yourself.

Digimon Story Time Stranger can be pre-purchased for $69.99 ahead of its October 2nd release.
