I love longer-form tactical roguelike games on the Steam Deck. Taking my time and having it all on the smaller screen that I can turn on and off when necessary is essential for me to play these awesome games, and it looks like I will be able to add a new one to the list! Desktop Dungeons: Rewind got a new patch yesterday that is perfect for those playing on a handheld like a Steam Deck, and I couldn't be happier!

The latest update, released yesterday, makes the game fully playable with a controller! The new controller support implements new smart targeting tech, making it easy to automatically select the most interesting tile when pushed in a specific direction. This is helpful for zooming into targets on the other side of the map, while the D-Pad can be used for micro-adjustments on the map. And yes, this all works perfectly on the Steam Deck, though the team is still working on full Verification.
On top of the controller support, we have some more parts of the update to discuss! The Codex is back, so you can see all the information about everything in-game when you would like, there is a new difficulty modifier to make it easier or harder to play, and we have a new Spanish and Japanese localization. There are also some bug fixes like spacing issues on the scoring scene and speech bubbles not displaying text correctly.
You can check out the full changelog on their Steam Community Post.

Desktop Dungeons: Rewind is available on Steam now and is on a 50% off sale for $9.99 until July 25th. The game is currently rated Steam Deck Playable due to small in-game text, needing to bring up the virtual keyboard manually, and showing incorrect controller icons.
