Studio Imugi, a boutique game development studio, is set to release its upcoming strategy game, Bonaparte: A Mechanized Revolution, on PC in early 2025. Promising to have a unique blend of political management strategy and deep tactical turn-based combat, they hope to bring a new spin to the strategy genre.
Players are invited to assume the role of a fictionalized version of Napoleon Bonaparte during a different French Revolution in Bonaparte: A Mechanized Revolution. Players must master the intricacies of a crumbling monarchy as they assume the role of a youthful and driven military officer, Céline or César Bonaparte. The revolution—and maybe the world—will be decided by the decisions taken, whether they are to defend, overthrow, or reform the government.
The goal of the game is to let players take an idealistic revolutionary movement and turn it into a formidable political force that can change France's destiny. Players will control the revolution's trajectory by implementing and honing their ideological strategies; their choices will be realized on the battlefield in real time.
Famous historical figures and factions from the French Revolution are thrown into the mix in Studio Imugi's retelling of the event, each given a distinct spin. The ever-changing nature of political tensions and conflicts will hopefully make for an unpredictable and dynamic experience.
Battles will involve steam-powered mechs, or Colossi, who clash with gunpowder in Bonaparte: A Mechanized Revolution, which combines historical warfare with fantastical aspects. The combat aims to reward bravery and strategic thinking.
Based on the complex and controversial legacy of Napoleon Bonaparte, the Creative Director at Studio Imugi, Jongwoo Kim, stated that the figure would be perfect for a strategy game. Playing as one of two fictional Bonaparte siblings, César and Céline, players can alter the French Revolution's trajectory in Bonaparte: A Mechanized Revolution by making decisions in a different timeline.

The developers in Quebec, Canada, are hard at work on Bonaparte: A Mechanized Revolution, and you can add the game to your Steam Wishlist right now, it will launch in full sometime in early 2025.
