This has been a surprisingly great year for fighting game fans. Recently, one of the best fighting games we’ve ever played, Avatar Legends, was released, and we gave it a full 10/10 in our review. Despite it using the Avatar: The Last Airbender IP, it’s a surprisingly detailed and technical fighter that appeals to both newcomers and veterans with its mechanics. We also talked about how it runs on the Steam Deck, and yesterday, it finally got the recognition it deserves with the Verified badge.

Yesterday, the game got the Steam Deck Verified badge from Valve, which notes that it’s a “great experience” for portable play. This means that the game's default controller and graphical configurations work well, the in-game text is legible, and all of the controller icons are accurate for the Deck’s gamepad.
Recently, I’ve been quite disappointed with the Verified system and their ratings for Halo and Disgaea Mayhem, but I have to say that Avatar Legends is an accurate one. The game runs extremely well on the Deck and can easily hit 60 FPS. Not only can it stick to 60 with a TDP limit to save on battery life, but we have full online compatibility. It makes us a great game to play on the go, and when we can wholeheartedly recommend.
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game can be purchased on Steam for $29.99.
