In case you've missed it, Atari has been very much focused on promoting the iconic franchises that it holds in its back catalog. It's even done retro hardware releases over the past 12 months as well. This is all part of their new strategy to keep an emphasis on existing IP rather than try and create something new that will grab people's attention.

This year, they released Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind as well as The Thing: Remastered, both of which were Steam Deck Verified titles. With Atari quick to point out how well-received The Thing: Remastered was and how it ended up being Nightdive Studio's fastest-selling title yet.

With the acquisition of both Nightdive Studio and Digital Eclipse, they have a pretty solid team that is tackling their retro revival goals. Digital Eclipse launched Tetris Forever this year, for example, which was fairly well received and a nice nod to the history of one of the most influential video games of all time.
We also can't forget the November release of Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration Extended Edition which brought additional Atari classics to the modern gamer.

Something that you may have missed as well, is that Atari recently acquired Intellivision. You know, that console from waaaaay back in the day that never really took off. Well, you might be seeing the Intellivision brand and its games back sometime soon now that Atari owns the rights to the brand and games associated with it.
Those of us of a certain age will also remember the Infrogrames name, which I saw all the time back on the PlayStation 1 and Nintendo 64 in games such as V-Rally, well the brand is back under Atari, and already owns rights to franchises such as Bread and Fred, Totally Reliable Delivery Service, and Surgeon Simulator.
The report finishes with a quote from Atari CEO Wade Rosen, stating that Atari are pleased with the success that their historical franchises are having, and that they will continue to stick with their "retro revival" strategy going into 2025.
