Gamescom has been such an awesome time with seeing so many games and meeting so many people, but the best part is being able to discuss the games with developers and get a look into what their process is like. Yesterday, I was able to take a look at Ghostrunner 2 and try out the game. While it looks and feels incredible so far, I did get confirmation that the game is being tested on the Steam Deck.

Speaking with the QA Lead from One More Level, the developer of Ghostrunner 2, he mentioned that he personally had been testing the game on the Steam Deck. The developer does want the game to perform well on the device and they wanted to continue the trend since the first game does run well too, though I didn't get any more details on how well it's performing. While the focus currently is primarily on getting the game released, it is fantastic to hear that the Steam Deck is being thought of in the development process.

On top of that, I got to play two parts of the game. The first showcased running around and slashing people, using the tempest ability to push around objects and solve puzzles, and more slashing. The game feels smooth and tight, keeping what made the original so amazing. The second part was a motorcycle scene where I had to drive my cycle as fast as possible to get to the end of the level. I had to dodge obstacles and boost accordingly to make sure I got over the jumps to land on the platforms. This part kept the theme of going fast and thinking quickly, which was awesome.

I died about 33 times and took 23 minutes to complete the demo, and I can't wait to play it more when it is released.
