I am a sucker for some addicting couch-coop madness. I love sitting down with my wife, drinking water, and then playing Mario Golf or Overcooked. Surmount is one of those great couch co-op games to play. Working together to climb a mountain while connected with your partner by a rope and constantly flinging yourself up the mountain is way too much fun. And with the newest update, any chance of us being unable to progress on the Steam Deck should be fixed!

Recently, there has been a nasty bug that causes the game to softlock. If you look at the bulletin board and press the "Steam" button, it could cause a bug that locks your game up. This is a bit of a bummer since you will need to close and reopen the game, but luckily, this new update fixes the issue!

The new update fixes more bugs and adjusts other aspects of the game, too. Your gems and items will now save when you suspend the game, a bug that made it impossible to retry the Balloon Festival mission has been squashed, and unlocked characters will no longer be labeled as "New" when you restart the game. There's also a new character at every base camp that allows you to preview which story characters are on the mountain, and you can suspend your game from any base camp now!

You can view the full changelog on their Steam Community Post.

Surmount is available for $14.99 on Steam.
