A new Proton Experimental update was released with some game fixes and more. Judgment will no longer freeze during tailing missions, while more games using MonoGame are now playable. Rockstar Launcher popups have improved rendering, and VR support for No Man's Sky makes it fully playable again, though VR on the Steam Deck is not recommended.
The new Proton Experimental update should automatically download if you already have the experimental layer. If not, just search for Proton Experimental in the Steam store on your Steam Deck and download.
Proton Experimental 1/16/26 Update Changelog:
- Fixed Judgment freezing during tailing missions on most setups.
- Made more games using MonoGame playable.
- Updated Wine Mono to 10.4.1.
- Improved VR support so that No Man's Sky VR mode is playable again.
- Fixed VR controller tracking in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
- Improved rendering of Rockstar Launcher popups.
