Wreckfest 2 is Entering Early Access on March 20th, 2025

Our favorite racing survival game is back! Yes, that's right, Wreckfest 2 is on the near horizon, after being announced back in August 2024, it's seemingly appeared out of nowhere and is launching on March 20th, 2025.

It won't be long before you too, can drive towards the finish line at 2% health, begging and pleading your fellow drivers to have mercy and not eliminate you before you reach the end. In my experience, Wreckfest drivers are pretty brutal and will likely revel in your destruction.

Well, the early access trailer below will let you revel in the destruction of other drivers' cars for a moment, check it out:

At launch, the game will have the base modes of Racing, Demolition Derby, and that sweet, sweet, multiplayer action, with a revamped career mode being added into the game later in the early access period.

The main changes for Wreckfest 2 seem to be focused on what made the game so popular, its physics and destruction. With an overhauled physics engine and more accurate component damage on cars, Wreckfest 2 looks to take vehicular destruction up to another level.

You'll also have the chance to own and upgrade your own vehicle in the game, much like in the original Wreckfest, and it looks like the 24-player races will return, complete with support for AI drivers. Plus, there will be Steam Workshop support for mods.

There are plans to be challenges and tournaments throughout the early access period too, so you can try out some combinations of tracks and vehicles you might not have thought of before.

Wreckfest 2 launches into Early Access on Steam on March 20th, 2025. You can wishlist the game now.

We don't have any indication of the system requirements of the game, so it's hard to say whether it will run on the Steam Deck or not just yet.
