The Rogue Prince of Persia Gets Steam Deck Verified After Latest Update, But Performance Will Be Improved Further

The Rogue Prince of Persia has been one of the best Prince of Persia experiences out there, with The Lost Crown coming in a close second. Turning it into a rogue-like experience felt perfect, and it was a solid experience on the Steam Deck, too. Already the game plays wonderfully on the Deck, but it didn't have its Verified badge. However, this has changed since the new update yesterday brought the game to Steam Deck Verified.

Before the new update, the game was rated Steam Deck Unsupported, but it finally has the rating that I feel fits the game! Evil Empire commented on this as well in a post on Twitter/X. They mention the game is Verified now but also confirm that this doesn't mean their optimization work will stop. They specifically say that performance will continue to improve throughout early access, the hub and later biomes may experience occasional drops, and it's recommended to keep the FPS to 30 for the best experience:

Hopefully, this means that we will be able to get to higher framerates like 45 FPS since it feels fantastic when it's smoother, but it's still awesome! From our experience, we do still enjoy this framerate and the drops are worth it, but any more optimization is very welcome!

The new Medallion update, which is the big one released yesterday, is just awesome! We have a new gameplay mission to rescue a little girl hunted by the Huns' corruption, an overhauled medallion system for a more intuitive and free way to play, 50 brand new medallions, a compilation book to show you the monsters you run into and the complex relationships between them, and more!
