The Crush House has you producing a reality TV show in the 90s. Playing as new hire Jae, it's your job to keep the viewers interested by capturing all the drama, tension, and steamy action in The Crush House's Malibu mansion. If you fail, you'll have to deal with a producer's worst nightmare, cancellation. The game itself is due out sometime later in 2024.
A new developer overview video with the game's Creative Director, Nicole He, just dropped, so check it out below:
The video covers the game's basic gameplay loop and also teases at the dark secrets lurking behind the mansion’s idyllic facade. I wasn't sure how The Crush House would work before watching the video, so if you're a little confused yourself, it's well worth a watch!
The Crush House analyzes what your camera is viewing while filming, and essentially scores you based on what's in the frame, depending on what your viewers want to see. The game also has what seems to be fairly in-depth personalities and traits attached to each character, which allows them to interact quite dynamically with each other depending on how their personalities might clash or connect them.
Either way, this is a pretty unique game both visually and in terms of gameplay, so I'm interested to see more about the game and how it works in the future.

The Crush House is due to release on Steam in 2024. We don't have an idea of system requirements yet, but we do know that the game will have full controller support, so here's hoping it runs well on the Steam Deck! I wonder if Gyro controls would make for an interesting way of filming a scene also!
