The fighting tournament EVO Japan took place over the weekend and TEKKEN 8 took the opportunity to reveal its upcoming roadmap, announcing a new chapter to the game’s Story Mode that's in the works for future release, and the second DLC character, Lidia Sobieski, who is joining the roster this summer.

Here's a trailer for TEKKEN 8 that highlights updates coming this year for the game:

As you can see in the trailer, even more was revealed for the future of TEKKEN 8.

Starting this spring, adjustments to the battle system will be made as the development team continues to work on improving balance and player experience. Players will also receive a big free update this summer, including the “Seaside Resort” summer-themed stage as well as a Photo Mode.

Then in autumn, another free update will add a brand-new story featuring Eddy Gordo. At a later date, we'll be treated to additional modes Ghost vs. Ghost and Online Practice.

The TEKKEN WORLD TOUR also continues with players across the globe competing to earn points and earn their place at the TEKKEN WORLD TOUR Finals to vie for the title 'King of Iron Fist'.

TEKKEN 8 is available on Steam for $69.99, although it's only sale for $48.99 until May 2nd, 2024. The game is rated as Playable on the Steam Deck, which we agreed with in our review of the game when it launched.
