Today has been a very hectic day. Not only did Crimson Desert release, and we published our thoughts on how it runs on the Steam Deck, but SteamOS got a massive new Preview update, showcasing what we can expect in the next big SteamOS update. We have initial support for the Steam Machine, which is very exciting, but there's a lot here that will benefit Steam Deck users too. We have an updated graphics driver, which may help with performance and stability for some games, an updated Arch system base, an updated Linux kernel, and an updated BIOS.

We also have a wealth of improvements, ranging from improved support for screencasts in Game Mode, like OBS and Discord, improved VRR frame pacing, and Bluetooth Wake for Steam Deck LCD models has finally returned! We also have some fixes for certain titles, like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Starfield, and a ton of fixes for non-Deck handhelds. Desktop mode also got a big update, which brought support for external displays with HDR and VRR.

You can download the updates yourself in the System Settings on the Steam Deck. Make sure your update channel is set to Preview.
