Publishing label No More Robots (known for Descenders, Hypnospace Outlaw, and Not Tonight) and developer Konafa Games have just officially revealed their upcoming title, Starless Abyss. This turn-based deck-builder combines cosmic terror with strategic gameplay, drawing inspiration from Lovecraftian horrors and bringing them to a spacefaring roguelike experience.

Players take on the role of a "Promixa" in Starless Abyss, a game where they must battle evil forces known as the "Outer Gods," who have broken the boundaries between time and space. Promixas have been in stasis for years and are suddenly awoken to deal with the Outer Gods and their threats. It is your duty as Promixa to protect Earth and put an end to these atrocities before everything is consumed by madness.

Eldritch Horror Meets Deep Strategy

Starless Abyss combines intense space combat and strategic deckbuilding at its core. Controlling a fleet of ships, players will face Lovecraftian space horrors as they venture through the abyss. As you finish missions, you'll get strong artifacts to improve your fleet, D.I.C.E. to affect important decisions, and cards from different factions that can be combined to create devastating combos that defeat opponents.

But take note...your sanity will be put to the test more as you go farther into the void. Will you give in to the madness or resist it? Ritual Cards, which give you the ability to wield occult powers by submitting to insanity and gain overwhelming strength at a dangerous cost, add a unique twist to the game.

Tons of Replayability

Starless Abyss promises a lot of replayability with three acts per run, more than 160 cards to collect, and five Proxima characters to unlock and master—each with unique skills. New challenges arise with every run, and the decisions you make will determine the destiny of both your fleet and your sanity.
