8BitSkull, whose previous game BORE BLASTERS was released to Very Positive reviews on Steam earlier this year, is back with an auto-battler dungeon crawler, entitled Skull Horde. Players will take on the role of a necromancied skull, with a horde of skeletons under their command as they fight against the flesh-havers!

Sound interesting? You can check out the game's teaser trailer below:

As you progress through the procedurally generated dungeons in Skull Horde, you'll collect loot and unlock perks that you can use to upgrade your skeletal horde. You'll be able to buy new types of units, each of which has unique abilities that make them specialized in certain tasks. If you buy multiple of the same unit, they can combine to form a stronger version of that unit.

The loot you find will also benefit certain units over others, with gameplay inspired by the Diablo II Necromancer class, the developers hope to provide a simplified pick-up and play experience that all players will enjoy.

Skull Horde is an auto-battler of course, so your minions will do battle in real-time while you manage your units, you'll have to make the best decisions on the next course of action, do you go for that next piece of loot, or do you play it safe and "live" to fight another day?

Skull Horde will be released on PC via Steam with Steam Deck and Linux support, and it will be playable in English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, and Polish.

What do you think? Does it sound like your kind of game? We're thrilled to see the Steam Deck being actively mentioned for a game in development and not just an afterthought where support gets patched in post-launch. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
