When you think of playing Planet Zoo, you might imagine creating an enclosure for lions, pandas, or maybe even monkeys. But you probably don't think of... chickens? Well, that's just what this latest DLC for Planet Zoo brings to the table. The Barnyard Animal Pack adds 7 new animals that have long been domesticated by humans, and now you can have a place for them in your zoo too!

Experience the rustic charm of the countryside in Planet Zoo: Barnyard Animal Pack! Bring rural beauty to your zoos and let your guests encounter seven beloved animals that have lived alongside humans for hundreds of years.

This collection includes the adventurous Alpine goat, known for its nimble hooves and indomitable spirit, the Sussex chicken with its energetic demeanor, the sweet and curious alpaca, the Highland Cattle with its imposing horns, an American Standard Donkey, the Hill Radnor Sheep, and the Tamworth Pig.

The DLC doesn't just add animals though, the Barnyard Animal Pack also features 60+ traditional rustic scenery pieces along with a new campaign scenario in which you must transform a run-down farm into a successful animal haven for both your animals and guests to enjoy in the New Zealand countryside.

Planet Zoo is available now on Steam, and the Barnyard Animal Pack DLC is also available now for $9.99. The game doesn't have controller support but is rated as Playable on the Steam Deck due to incorrect controller icons and some text may be difficult to read. The game does play quite well on the Deck, although you may want to use Proton GE to avoid a potential save error.
