Speedrunning Platformer 'Mr. Run and Jump' Gets a Content Update With New Game Mode & Balancing

Mr. Run and Jump, a neon-styled speedrunning platformer game from Atari, is getting a new content update today! While normally the game is all about dodging enemies and navigating platforming challenges, this new update adds a new opponent, yourself!

I found it pretty curious that a game about speedrunning didn't launch with a ghost mode already, but never mind, it's here now! In addition to adding the new ghost mode to the game, this update also adds some balancing to existing levels and enemies to make the experience smoother.

In case you haven't heard of Mr. Run and Jump before now (I haven't), it's a game all about "speedrunning" your way through a level, essentially running past all enemies and obstacles and reaching the end of the level as fast as you can. I quite like the neon visual style that they've gone with here too, I think it suits the game well.

Mr. Run and Jump has received positive ratings on Steam and is available for $24.99. It has no Steam Deck Compatibility Rating but does have full controller support, so it should work fine on the Steam Deck.
