The Second Open Beta Test for Monster Hunter Wilds is Live Now

Monster Hunter has a pretty huge following nowadays, so I'm sure many of you are excited to see the Open Beta for Monster Hunter Wilds open back up. Ultimately, this is very similar to the first open beta, just with a couple of extra monsters added to the game as well as the Training area, Private Lobbies, and "Online Single Player mode".

The beta doesn't include any performance enhancements, so if you struggled to play the first beta, it won't be any different in this one I'm afraid.

Here are the times for the Open Beta.

Open Beta Test 2 Schedule:

• Thursday, February 6 at 7pm PST to Sunday, February 9 at 6:59pm PST
• Thursday, February 13 at 7pm PST to Sunday, February 16 at 6:59pm PST

If you participate in the Open Beta, you will receive a special pendant and bonus item pack, this is the same bonus that players would have received for the first Open Beta Test.

A benchmark tool for the game was also released to test performance. I ran a test on my Steam Deck, and sadly it's still looking like Monster Hunter Wilds will be unplayable on the device, with the game often running below 20 FPS during hunts, and only reaching above 30 FPS in interior scenes.

Monster Hunter Wilds will launch on Steam on February 28th, 2025. You can pre-order or wishlist the game today.
