Tactical Mercenary RPG Band of Crusaders has been announced!

This kind of game is something of a comfort zone for me. With games like Wartales, Battle Brothers, and Kingdom, Dungeon, and Hero offering countless evenings of entertainment, sometimes all we need is to form a sellsword company and make our legacy.

Today, Virtual Alchemy out of Warsaw revealed their upcoming debut title: Band of Crusaders. Heavily influenced by the incredible Witcher series, this new strategy RPG is set in a corrupted, dark fantasy version of Medieval Europe. It looks fantastic, and I cannot wait to find out more.

Designed as an emergent sandbox, Band of Crusaders is about the story of a unit, not just the commander. Some will be poor peasants who have to take up arms against the forces of evil, while others are hardened veterans of war. The narrative looks interesting too, as you play as the Grandmaster of one of the powerful knight Orders from the Crusades, and must do battle against cruel bandits as well as darker, occult forces that plague Medieval Europe. It feels like a great combination of historical strategy and the fantastical mythology of demons and monsters. Where do I sign?
