Highly Anticipated RTS 'Stormgate' Hits Early Access

Stormgate is now available on Steam for everyone to try out! I have had my eye on Frost Giant's new game ever since it was announced, and I am looking forward to giving it a go. I love strategy titles, so I have high hopes for this one. The launch trailer is available right now:

Stormgate is set on a post-apocalyptic Earth, where humanity is fighting for its survival against a brutal invasion by demonic armies. In this free-to-play RTS, players can choose between three diverse factions for games, and I like the worldbuilding that has gone into this sci-fantasy blend. The humans take up the ranks of the Vanguard with their highly advanced mechs and robotic dogs. The Infernal Hosts are the demonic entities that threaten humanity, and their vast hordes of brutes and dragons add their twist to the strategy brawl. Finally, we have the Celestial Armada, a mysterious race of angels who summon their Machine Legions to battle against mankind and the forces of darkness.

One of Stormgate’s goals was to create an RTS accessible to players of all types, from players new to the genre to battle-hardened veterans. Having an approachable strategy title is a good thing, and I believe Frost Giant has some solid ideas for that. A ‘BuddyBot’ is on hand to assist players, either as an additional helper for training, or a handicap aid for economy. One of the toughest parts of competitive strategy titles is mastering the ability to manage a base while micromanaging units in battle, and Stormgate features tools like automated control groups and quick macro panels to add more. 

Stormgate can be played right now on Steam. The developers plan to keep Stormgate in Early Access for at least a year and plan to include powerful modding tools for players to experiment with further down the line.
