Frostpunk 2's New Dev Log Showcases City Building Mechanics

Frostpunk 2 is only a couple of months away: 20th September, to be precise. 11 Bit Studios recently announced a delay to their launch in order to get it into tip-top shape. With the first Frostpunk game being so successful, the sequel might be one of the most highly anticipated titles of the year.

I've really appreciated the Dev Log's the studio have been putting out, and they recently launched the second episode in their series. In Episode 2, the short video explores how the citybuilding mechanics work.

One of my favorite new additions is the weather system. Wind chill can seriously impact tempratures, and in a game where winter will kill you if you aren't prepared, I love how Frostpunk 2 includes this feature. You have to be really careful about where you build your districts.

Frostpunk 2 can be wishlisted on Steam right now. The first Frostpunk is classed as 'Playable' on the Steam Deck, with some small in-game text, requiring the manual keyboard to input text, and the game will sometimes show keyboard controls. Despite these issues, Frostpunk can still be a great experience on the Steam Deck, and I'm looking forward to the sequel!
