Even though it isn't perfect and sometimes has its fair share of bugs, using plugins on the Steam Deck is an awesome experience. The extra customizability that plugins like CSS Loader and SteamGridDB can breathe new life into just moving around the UI, but there's so much more. Recently, the framework that these plugins operate on, Decky Loader, got a new update that brings in a nice new feature and some worthwhile fixes, including an issue that has been broken for over 9 months.

The new 3.13 update is a solid one that includes a nice new feature that makes it nicer to navigate the store. Now, the store can detect if you have specific plugins installed, either stopping you from installing them again or allowing you to update them. This is especially nice if you have a ton of plugins installed, and I just enjoy seeing the greyed-out options and updating this way.
On top of that, we have a fix for remote binary downloads that weren't properly downloading. This could make some plugins fail to install, but now this shouldn't be an issue anymore. Some of Decky Loader's dependencies also got updated, and there was an update to the Portugese translation.
You can check out the full changelog for the update from their GitHub.
You can update Decky Loader by going into its settings and hitting the update button. Otherwise, you can follow our guide if you are installing it for the first time.
