Just a few moments ago, I got a notification that I didn’t expect to see, Cyberpunk 2077 has now been rated Verified for the Steam Deck. I was a bit confused actually, last time I recalled, Cyberpunk had a 3rd party launcher that needed touchscreen or mouse interaction to get past, but for a game to be verified, it can’t have that.

I decided to download and test myself. I first ran into an error that wouldn't let me start the game. The Qt Platform Plugin not being initialized reared its angry head at me, but I was able to fix this by deleting the Proton files under the "Developer" tab in the game's preferences. I loaded into the game and while I was hoping the launcher would just be gone, it has been re-worked to be controlled with a controller/gamepad:

As much as it is still obnoxious to go through, the menu no longer needs any touchscreen or Steam Input reworkings to get through! Congratulations to Cyberpunk on being verified, it is an awesome experience on the Steam Deck, which it seems many others agree with when looking at February's most played games!

That's odd, I was playing CP77 on my deck with no issues since I picked it up sometime last fall. I never needed a mouse and keyboard, it just allowed me to use the D-Pad and buttons. I didn't even realize it wasn't verified it played so well.
It’s possible the game itself was updated awhile ago, but Valve didn’t retest it until recently.
There wouldn’t be any performance changes due to being “verified” in this case. I believe the launcher was the only issue.
