Dark Fantasy RTS Cataclismo Receives a Delay, But Only For 6 Days, Launches July 22nd

Originally due to release on July 16th, Cataclismo, a siege defense RTS game published by Hooded Horse, has had its Steam early access release date delayed until July 22nd. The publisher has confirmed, however, that the game has received over 200,000 wishlists on Steam, so they're hoping for a good launch.

They even took the time to re-do the release date trailer with the new date, which you can watch below:

Cataclismo is a dark fantasy real-time strategy game about building castles brick-by-brick and defending against overwhelming odds for as long as possible. Players will design fortresses, optimize production in the citadel, train and deploy a wide range of troops, and make impactful tactical choices as they fight to defend the last bastion of humanity.

The early access build launching on July 22nd will feature a campaign with a tutorial and 11 levels, which takes part across 2 biomes. This campaign will be expanded during the early access period.

There will also be a skirmish mode that has 2 levels and biomes. And an Endless mode, which only has 1 biome, but will have a procedurally generated map each time.

If designing levels is your thing, then you're in luck, as the level editor will be available immediately upon release, as well as the ability to share these levels.

More biomes and modes are planned to be added during the early access period.

Cataclismo is due to launch into Steam Early Access on July 22nd, 2024. There doesn't appear to be controller support, but hopefully, a controller layout for the Steam Deck will make the game manageable, like many RTS games. The system requirements should be well within the Steam Deck's reach.
