I wish I wasn't writing an article like this, and this wasn't happening, but here we are. It appears that Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company that controls Adult Swim Games, has informed developers that they will be delisting their games within 60 days, proving once again that WB may not be the best at making consumer-friendly decisions with their video games.

This saga started two days ago when it was reported that the game Small Radios Big Televisions was going to be delisted from storefronts within that 60-day timeframe. Then, the studio behind Soundodger+ was contacted about their game as well by W.B. Discovery with the same message. Finally, we had the team behind Fist Puncher also get the same notice, but unfortunately, this comes with another piece of bad news.

In an update to Fist Puncher posted on its Steam Community forums, the developer made an update that goes over the issue. They also added that Warner Bros. will not be able to transfer the game to the developer's publisher account so it can stay active, stating that:

[...]they made the universal decision not to transfer the games back to the original studios and do not have the resources to do so.

So, with three games getting shut down completely, it makes sense that the rest of the Adult Swim titles will be getting delisted, too. Considering how easy it would be to transfer games to the original developer if requested, this feels like a slap in the face and a reminder of the risks with fully digital media. This also comes hot on their decision to double down on live service games, which feels like a slap in the face considering their single-player story game, Hogwarts Legacy, performed extremely well.

You can check out all the current Adult Swim Games published titles on Steam, and I highly recommend checking them out (especially Duck Game). When they are delisted, you will still be able to play and download them, but you won't be able to buy them after they are gone. And I really hope WB makes some better decisions soon. They have the capacity to bring out some great games, but these kinds of decisions are very disheartening.
