It's been rumored for a while now, but Sony's State of Play event today confirmed that Until Dawn is being enhanced and re-released on the PC later this year.

Here's a reveal trailer for the remaster:

Using Unreal Engine 5, the developers are bringing in enhancements both visually and in terms of gameplay. First off, we're getting a third-person mode, as well as a shift in the color palette to create a more cinematic experience. Both environments and characters have been overhauled to create a more detailed world. Unexplored parts of the original story are now expanded upon in this remaster.

Sound has also received a major change, with legendary horror composter Mark Korven being brought in to create an entirely new score for the game!

It sounds like a lot of time and effort has been put in to make this version of Until Dawn the true definitive one.

We have no Steam store page for the game yet, but it makes sense that Sony would release the game onto Steam as they have with previous titles.

Are you a horror fan? Does this news get you excited for when Until Dawn releases on PC later this year? An October release seems appropriate for this one.
