Steam Deck Verified/Playable Highlights 1/22/24 - 1/28/24

Over the last week, we had a solid amount of games get the Steam Deck Verified/Playable badges, including some pretty old releases that may have been passed over. On top of the upcoming Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster, we got the original Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 that got its golden exclamation point, as well as some other awesome entries! Here are the 9 recommendations we have for this week:

Verified or Playable games don't automatically mean they work amazing out of the box. Some of these games may require work to optimize and play well. Here are our thoughts on the Verified system and how it can be fixed.

Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster (Verified)

The evil Empire is currently creating a doomsday army behind a veil of secrecy. However, they are no match for the Rebel Alliance's covert operations division. Your mission is to infiltrate the Empire and put an end to their plans for terror and domination.

The game will be released on February 28th and is rated Verified.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) (Playable)

The sequel to the best-selling first-person action game of all time, Modern Warfare 2 continues the gripping and heart-racing action as players face off against a new threat dedicated to bringing the world to the brink of collapse.

The game is $19.99 and is rated Playable due to incorrect controller icons and warnings, but the game works perfectly fine.

Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 - Master Collection Version (Verified)

The second and third games in the renowned stealth-shooter series, Metal Gear Solid has been remastered for newer consoles. MGS2 is the sequel to the first game, covering events that took place in 2007 and 2009, while MGS3 is a prequel telling the origin of Naked Snake.

The games are $19.99 each and are rated Verified.

Momodora: Moonlit Farewell (Playable)

"Momodora: Moonlit Farewell" is the latest installment in the Momodora series. Join Momo, High Priestess of the village of Koho, as she embarks on a divine mission to save her people from imminent destruction at the hands of the demon hordes summoned by a malevolent bellringer.

The game is $16.99 and is rated Playable due to showing incorrect controller icons.

The Texas Chainsaw Massare (Playable)

Take on the role of one of the notorious Slaughter family, or their victims, in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, a third-person asymmetrical horror experience based on the groundbreaking and iconic 1974 horror film. Experience the mad and macabre for yourself in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

The game is $39.99 and is rated Playable due to needing to change graphical settings, small in-game text, and needing to manually bring up the virtual keyboard.

Snake Pass (Verified)

Slither, coil and climb your way to the top of Haven Tor in this one of a kind physics based, puzzle platform adventure from award winning independent studio Sumo Digital!

The game is $19.99 and is rated Verified.

GrandChase (Playable)

Grand Chase is a free side-scrolling online action RPG with anime inspired graphics. Enjoy exciting adventures in dungeons and PvP with unique characters.

The game is free to play and is rated Playable due to needing to set the correct display resolution, small in-game text, and showing incorrect controller icons.

Party Animals (Verified)

Fight your friends as puppies, kittens and other fuzzy creatures in PARTY ANIMALS! Paw it out with your friends remotely, or huddle together for chaotic fun on the same screen. Interact with the world under our realistic physics engine. Did I mention PUPPIES?

The game is $19.99 and is rated Verified.

Mega Man X DiVE Offline (Verified)

Mega Man X DiVE reimagined the world of the Mega Man X series, and now it's getting an offline version! Strengthen your characters and weapons with a variety of powerups to make them all your own. Then test them out in the side-scrolling action of "what-if" worlds in Mega Man X!

The game is $29.99 and is rated Verified.
