It was only last month that the game was revealed at the Triple I Initiative Showcase, and Wabisabi Games' first release, RKGK, has already received a launch date of May 22nd on Steam!

In RKGK, you'll be playing as Valah, a fearless graffiti artist, who, along with her companions, will work to free the citizens of Cap City who have been mind-controlled by B-Corp, an oppressive corporation led by its evil CEO, Mr. Buff.

Along with the release date, the developers have also released a new gameplay trailer for us to look at, check it out below:

Platforming action is at the fore in RKGK. Chain together jumps, dashes, glides, and grinds as you master the fluid and kinetic platforming action. Reach the perfect flow state in Defacer Mode and Valah’s world becomes an animated wonderland.

You can paint the city in your style with a wide array of graffiti options, a diverse color palette, and a range of cosplay-inspired outfits.

Combine your platforming and combat skills in massive boss fights which will test how well players have mastered their skills.

Got that speedrunner blood in you? Dedicated time trackers, hidden paths, and secret treasures are
available to push even the most hardcore platformer players to their limits. You can use your abilities for stylish traversal, chaotic mayhem, and making your mark on every corner of Cap City.

“We’re thrilled to give players a look at RKGK’s vibrant, platforming gameplay. As creators and artists ourselves, we’re incredibly inspired by the things we loved growing up – Japanese anime and manga, Mexican street art, and early platforming games. ... We can’t wait to finally share RKGK with players around the world when it launches on Steam later this month.”

Anwar Noriega - Wabisabi Games' CEO & Co-Founder

Wabisabi Games is quite unique in that it is a fully remote game studio with its staff spread across 7 countries.

RKGK is launching on Steam on May 22nd, you can wishlist the game now. It will have full controller support and system requirements which should mean the Deck will be able to play it at least on lower settings.
