Are you looking to upgrade your Steam Deck or ROG Ally's storage but can't find a good M.2 2230 drive to use? Well, you might not have to look much longer! Western Digital is launching a new line of NVMe SSDs for use in the Deck or Ally.

As reported on The Verge by Tom Warren, this new drive will come in 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB forms, allowing users to upgrade their internal storage by 2x or 4x. On top of that, we will have read speeds of 5,150mb/s and write speeds of 4850mb/s, so you won't be missing out on the essential speeds we need to get games loaded up fast! This should be especially appealing if you have a 64gb or 256gb Steam Deck. Games are only increasing in size, so having that extra storage is almost essential at this point.

While upgrading the SSD is still a process, it isn't nearly as hard as putting on a front cover or swapping out buttons. You can see exactly how to do this using iFixit's guide.

The 500gb option is $74.99, but I wouldn't recommend getting this one as the upgrade could be much better. The 1tb option is $109.99 on the Western Digital Store and $129.99 on Best Buy. The 2tb option is currently only on Best Buy for $239.99. According to the Best Buy page, these SSDs will be releasing/shipping out September 22nd.
