Soulmask is an upcoming open-world survival game, it's been well received during both the Steam Next Fest and the open beta that it's currently enjoying, with more than 180,000 players and more than 480,000 hours of playtime. The developer Qooland has announced that Soulmask will launch on June 18th. Additionally, the open beta has now been extended until May 15th, so you still have a chance to check out the game before launch.

You can check out the launch date trailer for Soulmask below:

The Early Access version of Soulmask plans to introduce a range of new content for players to experience, with the developers touting that they estimate the game has 500 hours of gameplay to offer across seven maps which you can explore, including new biomes, such as volcanoes and snow-capped mountains.

There will also be improvements to character action and sound effect performance, and improvements to the AI tribesmen to make managing your tribe of up to 20 AI tribesmen easier to manage.

You'll also be able to run a private server mode with more than 100 customization functions in stand-alone/online mode for a more free game-playing experience.

What makes Soulmask a little different from other games in the genre is the mask gameplay at the core of the game. Masks give you the ability to take control of most of the NPCs in the game world. You'll be able to discover more masks that embody the spirit of ancient heroes to unlock many different abilities. Harness the gift of immortality, walk among your enemies concealed in the shadows, fire homing missiles with dead accuracy, and more.

Soulmask aims to provide an authentic and engaging survival experience, with physics-based combat and a rewarding world to interact with.

Soulmask is in open beta on Steam until May 15th. The game will launch into Early Access on June 18th, 2024. The game has partial controller support and system requirements that may trouble the Deck, we haven't tested it out ourselves yet though.
