GUNDAM BREAKER 4, which will be the first numbered entry of the series in more than six years, launches globally on August 29th, 2024. Pre-orders are also supposed to be live, but as of right now, I wasn't able to find an option to pre-order the game on Steam.

The game operates on a gameplay loop of Break, Build, and Battle, where players can build their own Gunpla (Gundam Plastic models) to fight enemies comprised of more than 250 mobile suits in the game.

You'll be able to collect loot by breaking off pieces during combat, and then use those pieces to build and improve your own machine using the game’s customization options in order to take on more difficult challenges.

Sound interesting? You can check out the release date trailer for the game below:

In GUNDAM BREAKER 4, you will be able to mesh together your own mecha creations by using parts from more than 250 iconic Mobile Suits from throughout the Gundam series, you can then test your creations on a virtual battlefield with up to 3 players in co-op multiplayer. During missions, you can break off enemy parts to collect and upgrade your own builds.

GUNDAM BREAKER 4 also introduces an all-new feature to the series, which will let you use two different weapons for unique combos.

In your off-time between battles, you can hang out in the garage where you can customize your creations with new parts as well as paint, apply decals, and add a weathered look to your mech that really allows you to express yourself.

Once you're done building your Gunpla, you can participate in both offline and online missions. Take down bosses or take on hordes of enemy mecha to gain new parts and equip new skills.

Or maybe you just want to relax in the diorama mode. This mode allows you to construct elaborate scenarios with a variety of backgrounds, environmental elements, and special effects, then place any Gunpla creations to capture the perfect pose with highly articulable models. It's the most intricate photo mode you've seen!

GUNDAM BREAKER 4 is launching on Steam on August 29th, 2024. It's available to wishlist now, and pre-orders should be available soon. Previous GUNDAM games have had issues with the Steam Deck, so here's hoping GUNDAM BREAKER 4 marks a change in that record.

GUNDAM BREAKER 4 will also have Digital Deluxe and Digital Ultimate Editions available, which contain the following:

  • Digital Deluxe Edition – This version includes the base game, early unlocks to parts from 15 “hero” mobile suits spanning iconic series including Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Turn A Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, and others. Also included are five-story mission packs with new mobile suits and Digital Deluxe exclusive parts featuring the GUNDAM BREAKER 4 hero mobile suit and the Gunbarrel Strike Gundam (GUNDAM BREAKER Ver.).
  • Digital Ultimate Edition – Includes everything in the Digital Deluxe Edition as well as a Diorama Pack with additional creative elements, as well as the Diorama Pack Bonus, which includes GUNDAM BREAKER Easels and Posters.
