I am always looking for new 4X Strategy games to play. I was turned onto the genre with Sid Meier's Civilization 5, and while there are a ton of great games out there, none have captivated me like Civilization. Songs of Silence seems like one of the few games that could captivate me. It has a gorgeous art-style and I like the contrast with real-time battles and turn-based strategic management, and with the first major update for the game, it should be significantly more playable on the Steam Deck.

In the first major update for the early access title, which was released yesterday, we have significantly improved Steam Deck and controller support. The developers have improved the input and UI systems to make it more accessible with a controller. They also adjusted the font size, which should be perfect for smaller screens like the Deck's.

On top of this, the new update adds some nice quality-of-life fixes and reworks! The movement system has been adjusted to make it easier to move and sneak past units on the map. We also have adjusted control zones, which all makes movement calculations make more sense now. The garrison can now join you in the fight when you try to break a siege, AI has been improved, wilderness biomes on large maps will look much better, procedurally generated decoration assets were implemented, Light Vein Visuals look sharper, and the game got some overall balance adjustments.

Songs of Silence is available on Steam for $39.99, but you can get it on Fanatical for $12.44. I believe this is an error and shouldn't be this cheap, but that's what it says on the website.
