If you are a fan of rhythm games on PC, then you probably know about Osu! This is a free rhythm game that has you moving your mouse cursor around the screen, clicking, dragging, and spinning different nodes to the beat of the music. It's an awesome game, especially to play on smartphones, but this is a bit harder to play on the Steam Deck due to a lack of controller support. Thankfully, we have Project Heartbeat, which you will love if you are a fan of Project Diva, and with its newest update, it should be much nicer on your battery life.

The developers just released the Phoenix update, their biggest one yet, and it includes some great updates that work well with the Steam Deck. First, we have the move to the Godot 4 game engine, which gives increased performance and more render options. This helps with new real 3D UI backgrounds instead of the simulated ones, resulting in saved battery. We also have native Vulkan support from the engine switch, which is fantastic.

The rest of the update affects almost every other part of the game. We have two new songs, Versos Perversos and War Zone, the implementation of a new Subtick system to reduce/eliminate any latency, new input glyphs, Discord will now show you album art and what song you are playing from the community, revamped multiplayer to allow modifiers or per-song variants, a revamped results screen, and better video decoding!

You can check out the full update announcement, which goes into much more detail, through their Steam Community Post.

Project Heartbeat is available on Steam for $9.99. The game is rated Unknown for the Steam Deck, but it is reported to be working perfectly!
