Update 2/20: According to the official Kingmakers account, one of their testers has been playing on Steam Deck and says it runs well! There aren't any details posted, but it is encouraging to see.

Kingmakers is aiming to be a unique medieval sandbox game when it launches later in 2024. You are an elite task force operative who has been sent back in time to medieval England, complete with your modern equipment, in order to change history and prevent a future apocalypse from being set in motion!

Sound confusing? Check out the trailer and the way the game works should make a bit more sense:

It's looking like a pretty interesting title to me, I may have missed this being done before, but I'm not familiar with another game that's done this on this scale and in this style.

Kingmakers promises to let you build up your kingdom, control thousands of simulated soldiers in vast battles, and bring in your modern weaponry to unleash havoc on your enemies, all while playing with up to 4 players in cooperative play.

The launch later in 2024 is an early access one, but I'm pretty excited to see where they take this, and what they can do with the mechanics they already have in place.

Kingmakers will launch into early access on Steam later in 2024. You can wishlist the game now! Given the scale of the battles, I'm not sure if the Steam Deck will handle this particular game well, but we can hope!
