There are so many ways to customize your Steam Deck, from skins and stickers to full on shell replacements. It's awesome being able to do this, but with the Steam Deck OLED, our options have been a bit more limited than the LCD Steam Deck. However, we will have some new shell options coming soon from eXtremeRate, and they are now up for pre-order!

Currently, there are seven shells that will be available to replace your stock shell. These also include new buttons:

This also extends to their button replacements, which give you more customization over how your Deck looks, and can be purchased separately:

A lot of the selection here is very similar to their LCD offerings, and a lot of what we have seen from eXtremeRate's initial offerings for shells, as well as other companies like JSAUX. However, the glow in the dark shell is something I haven't seen before and it sounds quite interesting. I also really like their button color offerings, which also offer a glow in the dark option.

Both of the products will start shipping on October 22nd, with the shells all costing $35.99 and buttons all costing $18.99 (except for two sets that cost $20.99). You do need a little bit of technical knowledge and have to open up your Steam Deck to replace the shell and buttons, but as long as you are careful and follow iFixit's guide for the Front Shell and Back Cover, as well as eXtremeRate's guide on replacing buttons, you should be okay. Still, you will need to open up your Steam Deck, and that warrants being careful no matter what.

If you do decide to purchase, you can also use our discount code SDHQ to get an extra 10% off your order!

The eXtremeRate links above are using an affiliate link, which gives us a little back from sales at no extra charge to you. All proceeds go back into SDHQ and its development.
