I love playing games on my Steam Deck when I am lying down, it can be one of the most comfortable ways to enjoy gaming, but I can only do it for some time before my arms start to get extremely tired. It's a shame, and it makes it much harder to find a comfortable position to play games in while lying down. But the solution to this problem may be here, in the form of a very specialized pillow.

A new pillow from Mechanism called the Gaming Pillow aims to fix this issue. It's a small, round pillow that has a stand embedded in it that can clip onto a Steam Deck. From there, you just put the pillow in your lap and there you go! This takes the weight of holding the device off of your hands, making it significantly easier to hold while alleviating any pain that could come from holding it for too long. There's also an extra mechanism mounting point, which you can use for external batteries, phones, and more.

On top of that, it is compatible with other devices too! It can come with one free grip of your choice, and you can choose from:

  • Steam Deck
  • ROG Ally
  • Nintendo Switch
  • PS Portal
  • Universal Grip (for all other devices)

The Gaming Pillow looks like the perfect way to play Steam Deck while lying down, and might be the perfect product for me. I am constantly playing games, especially for reviewing, so extra comfort to make my time going through games easier is something I could really use. I also like that I can use it for other devices like my phone or tablet.

The product is currently $59.99 and it is out of stock. There are more pillows coming in soon, but new shipments won't go through until September 15th - 22nd. Shipping is not included unless you spend $75, so you may want to get some extra mounts or more to hit that mark. Either way, I love the idea behind the product and think it could be the way I game from now on.
